Other PhenotypesBeta/beta animals consume more food but weigh less than control animals (Chen et al., 2000), and have a slightly elevated body temperature (0.3-0.5 degrees C) (Chiu et al., 2004).
Beta/beta animals show an increase in mitochondrial biogenesis only in fat cells from white adipose tissue (Chiu et al., 2004).
