DescriptionAdministration of EUK-134 at concentrations greater than 0.5 mM shortened the mean life-span of flies under normoxic conditions (Bayne and Sohal, 2002). At concentrations less than 0.5 mM EUK-134 had no effect on life-span.
Gene FunctionEUK-134 acts as a superoxide dismutase and catalase mimetic (Baker et al., 1998).
Other PhenotypesAdministration of EUK-134 at 0.5 mM concentration extended mean and maximum life span in C. elegans by about 50% (Melov et al., 2000).
