p66shc -/- mice: 973 days

Gene FunctionThe p66shc gene encodes an alternative splicing variant of signaling adaptor Shc, which is involved in EGF receptor signaling in the mitogen activated protein kinase pathway (Migliaccio et al, 1999).
Other Phenotypesp66shc -/- cells are more resistant to apoptosis induced by hydrogen peroxide and UV light (Migliaccio et al., 1999). p66shc -/- mice are more resistant to oxidative stress induced by paraquat (Migliaccio et al., 1999).
